Vrana Lake Nature Park is a unique wetland on the Croatian coast. The greatest value from the point of view of biological diversity is given to it by extensive reed beds and a narrow strip of floodplain meadows, which stretch across the territory of the ornithological reserve and are an important habitat for birds. A total of 234 species of birds have been recorded, of which 102 species nest in the park area, which is why this area is of international importance as a resting place and feeding area for migratory birds. According to some estimates, 20,000 migratory birds stay in the Autumn Migration Park every day, and sometimes this number rises to 400,000.
